The daily maximum and minimum water level values for groundwater wells after September 30, 2023 are no longer being displayed on NWISWeb. Gage datum was revised on October 01, 2021, based on an error in the determination of the gage datum.
Considerable regulation at times caused by Santeetlah Dam, 7.5 mi upstream. Water from Santeetlah Lake, 7.5 mi upstream, is diverted to hydro powerplant on the Little Tennessee River, which bypasses gage.
Gage-height records are generally good. Discharge records are generally good except for estimated discharges, which are fair. Additional details on the accuracy of the records can be obtained by contacting the USGS South Atlantic Water Science Center at gs-w-nc_nwisweb_data_inquiries@usgs.gov.
